Hi Erin WHERE DO YOU USE ‘STRESS’ AS AN EXCUSE? When I ask this question, it can be irritating for some. ‘But you don’t know my situation?’ is the response. But the truth is, that I have worked with enough individuals to understand that the stories may vary, but the underlying triggers are very much the same. They’re just put together differently. Most individuals use the term ‘Stress’ as if it is something happening to them. Something outside of their control. This is the risk when we label anything. STRESS IS NOT ONE THING. It’s the cumulative affect of many unearthed challenges. I invite you to take a moment to review your stress triggers from the list here, because when they’re CONSTANT, they can become very good excuses for: Eating too much or too little Sleeping too much or too little Choosing convenience over nourishment Staying driven with caffeine Withdrawal and isolation Numbing behaviours (shopping, eating, technology) Anxiety Depression Brain fog Pain Digestive concerns And the list goes on…….. So, I invite you dive a little deeper into what your STRESS is comprised of. When you know it, you CAN change it. This week take the term ‘Stress’ out of your vocabulary. Insert the truth instead.
