Fighting Perfectionism

As a recovering, high performing perfectionist, the topic always interests me.

Here’s the cray-cray of seeking perfection in our personality and behaviour.

We are not one ‘self’ to perfect.

There are many aspects of ‘self’:

The MANIFESTED self (who we present as)

The OUGHT self (who we think we should to be)

The IDEALISED self (the perfect self)

The SHADOW self (the darker, repressed and inferior part)

At any moment in time, any aspect of self can show up.

Usually, we’re unconscious to it.

Perfection therefore, is largely unattainable.

I say ‘No’ to perfection.

I say a big ‘Yes’ to bridging the gap between the MANIFESTED self and the IDEALISED selfby strengthening self-awareness and self-enquiry into the OUGHT self and SHADOW self.

ThenI create clear, focussed and intentional actions based on my self-enquiry findings.
